mr. sketch-it sings

Inspired by Mummenschanz, this piece was a lot of fun to create. It took me a total of 4 hours to construct the mask and run through the performance enough to make it look good.

I used plain old cardboard, electrical tape, packing tape and three CVS disposable cameras. Getting all three cameras proved an impossible task. All that matters is that the lips are synchronized with the soundrack.

I just got an idea. Send me your audio file and I'll have mr. sketch-it speak it for you. That could be fun.

G'head. The music is copyrighted but this falls under fair use. I assume The PAN does also.

First week of daily PAN was wonderful by the way. Is it just you editing it or do you share the load with others?

This is really cool.
I'd like to take you up on your offer to animate mp3s. I was thinking about surreptitiously recording people in public places and having them animated, or scouring boring podcasts that could get some added spice by being animated, a la Robert Smiegel.

We at sketch-it welcome all suggestions like Yves. Remember when you are secretly recording people to hide the microphone in a pot of fake flowers and to place that pot of fake flowers right on the table in front of them. They will never know what's up.

After you make your recording and submit it to sketch-it, send them an email with a link to the animation. Then we can all have a good laugh before we are broght into court and sued for slander or libel or whatever nasty law we'd be breaking by secretly recording them.

Remember to always first get permission to secretly record someone before you secretly record them.

Hmmm. Candid Camera never had a problem.
Anyway, since you insist, here is a link to the podcast I found that may make a funny animation: 1, 2.

Riot!

"My style is to not try."

I love it. I'd need to edit these down as they are rather long in the realm of animation. I am thinking of using them for a mr. sketch-it MashUp instead of animation. It should be fun.

There's already a new mr. sketch-it skit currently in production so I'll get to your suggestion after that. If you ever have any other audio clips to submit, drop us a line.
